16 National Teal Earns Bid to 2010 J.O’s

The Alliance 16 National Teal team qualified for the 2010 USA Volleyball Girl’s Junior National Championships in the Open Division this past weekend
by finishing 3rd at the Big South Qualifier in Atlanta, GA. This is the first ever Alliance team to earn a bid to Nationals and also the first team to earn a bid in 16 Open from the state of Tennessee.

The 16 National Teal team, coached by Jay Golsteyn, will compete against 32 of the top teams and clubs from around the country at the championships on June 24-July 3 in Reno, Nevada.

Rhein Makes USA Boy’s Youth National Team

Scott Rhein, a Junior and 6’5" outside hitter for Impact Boys Volleyball Club has been selected for the USAV Boys Youth National Team, which will compete in the 2010 Boys’ Youth NORCECA (North America, Central America and Caribbean) Zonal Championships.  Head Coach Dr. Gary Sato, USA Men’s National Team Assistant Coach, and Assistants (TBA) will travel to Guadalajara, Mexico, on April 4 followed by two days of practice before competition begins on the 6th and continues through the 11th.  The NORCECA is a qualifier for the first-ever Youth Olympics, which will be held in Singapore this coming August, as well as for the 2011 Boys’ Youth World Championships (site and date TBD).  The squad of 12 has been chosen after approximately 1,000 players participated in the USAV High Performance Tryouts held in various cities throughout the U.S.
