Edina is a city located right outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The high-end suburb is home to numerous outdoor and indoor activities, dozens of restaurants and upscale shopping, including the trendy 50th and France neighborhood. Edina Aquatic Center

Located inside of Rosland Park, Edina Aquatic Center is a long time family favorite. It features a children’s pool and pirate-themed outdoor water park with numerous fountains, sprays and slides. It has a full concessions as well. There is a surf simulator called The Lost Wave that lets you catch big waves within a safe environment. Oakwood Forest includes a treehouse-themed playground that has a life-sized hippo and giraffe along with monkey bars and a rope spider web. There is also a cable ride called the Shipwreck Express that looks like a ship’s bow and has a trapeze bar.

Centennial Lakes Park

The most popular activities for families is the park’s 18-hole putting golf course where only putters are used. There are also paddle boats that travel over 24 acres worth of water features. You can rent rods to go fishing as well as lawn bowling and croquet sets. The park features 1 1/2 miles worth of paved paths for hiking. There are numerous outdoor sculptures throughout the park. In the summer there is a farmer’s market on Thursdays, Thursday night family-friendly movies and weekday concerns for preschool children.

Edina Art Center

This gallery showcases both group and solo exhibitions. From May 12 to June 16 Art for the Garden takes place, which includes paintings, metal art, pottery, clothing and much more than have been inspired by fauna and flora. The center also has studios for rent, a pottery department, an art supply store and classrooms. The gift shop has original art for sale.

Situated on Lake Calhoun’s shores, this unique 1928 mansion offers you the opportunity to learn about some of the early electronically-powered medical instruments in addition to seeing different kinds of magnetic and electrical exhibits.
