Termite Spring Break Camp
Birth years 2003 or younger

Monday, April 5 to Thursday, April 8 from 8:00am – 12:00pm

 
  • Players will be divided by Hockey Dynamics coaches into 2 groups with a maximum of 16 players for each group
  • 7 hours of On-Ice Instruction. 
  •  Each player will receive a Hockey Dynamics jersey
  • Limited Spaces: players will be accepted on a first come, first served basis

Program Information:
 

On-Ice Fundamental Skills:

Focus: Skating (backwards/forwards), Edgework, Pivoting, Turning

Explanation: This session will focus on developing sound fundamentals.  Instructors will emphasize skating skills – agility, speed, strength, stride - which are essential for this age group.  Puck Skills (shooting, passing, stick handling) will also be covered in this session

 

On- Ice Competition/Battle Drills:
Focus: angling, defensive side positioning, protecting puck

Explanation: Players will be instructed on how to defend opposing players.  They will also be instructed on how to take the correct angle to the puck.  Players will be put through various ‘game scenarios’ including 1 on 1, 2 on 2, and 3 on 3 situations.

 

On- Ice 4 on 4 Half Ice:  
Focus: Applying skills covered in first two ice sessions and applying them in a game situation

Explanation: Players will participate in a 4on 4 games.  2 games will be going on simultaneously.  Players will be broken up into 4 teams so there will be no subs during the game session.

 

Off-Ice – Various Sports: 
Focus:
Dodgeball, Basketball, Handball, Soccer

Explanation: This off ice session will involve players participating in various sports and the emphasis will be on teamwork and fun.

 

Off-Ice – Ball Hockey: 
Focus:
Teamwork, Passing, Fun

Explanation: Players will be working on their overall hockey skills in this session, just not on the ice.  Players will throw on their sneakers and play.

 

Movie and a Snack:
Focus:
Age appropriate movie and healthy snack

Explanation: Once players finish their final ice session, instructors will assist players in getting out of their hockey gear and the camp will finish with players winding down watching a movie and receiving a healthy snack and drink.

Program Notes:

·        Instructors will help players with skates and equipment.

·        Please bring players to A-Game in morning wearing hockey gear

·        Players will remain in equipment until final ice session.

·        Please ensure players wear running shoes.

·        Snack and drinks will be provided
